Join your local campaign

The Free Software Pact is a decentralized initiative with local coordination all around European countries, each local coordination is absolute in its decision and responsibilities. If you live in a country with an already existing campaign, we urge you to join it and contribute to its success.

Basically, you just need to get in touch with local coordinators, register on their platform and then do local action by contacting and educating local candidates.

Every signature of the Free Software Pact is a great achievement, even if the candidate is not elected thereafter.

Check if your country is listed on the top of this web site and visit local coordination website.

No local campaign in your country ?

If there is no local campaign in your country and your are not willing to launch a campaign but you want to contact candidates so that they sign the Free Software Pact, you can still use the "Free Software Pact". Make your local candidates sign the pact and send the signed version by email to contact@freesoftwarepact.eu or by postal mail to the following address :

Start a local campaign

We are not willing to animate national campaigns, it is up to you to run a local campaign in your own country and coordinate with us at the European scale.

Right now, the following campaigns have been launched:

  • April is leading a campaign in France and Belgium.
  • Associazione per il software libero is leading campaign in Italy.

We maintain this portal, which would open on every national campaign and present major news and information. These news and information will come from any of you who wants to participate in this campaign.

If you want to create your own campaign, we have a dedicated platform that we put at your disposal for the campaign management: GPT (Grassroot Platform Technology. It is packaged and ready for multilingualism. GPT is a web program that helps coordinating a grassroot volunteer campaign based on the act of contacting political candidates before an election. Its aim is to act as a contact directory and to gather all information regarding the work of a decentralized volunteer campaign (who is in charge of which candidate or constituency, etc.). GPT also helps maintaining a numbering of candidates supports.

We also had the "Free Software Pact" translated into several languages so as to ease the job for anyone would like to use it. We also will put online some guides to help you and your volunteers handle the campaign and the relationships with the candidates. We are seeking for translators in any language.

You can contact us if you want to launch a local campaign
